For The 'True Colours' Challenge at HPFC. My colour is pink which symbolizes love and beauty and I decided to do both of them. Please review! :)
Hermione was standing in the middle of the Gryffindor common room looking around the tapestry covered walls, taking in every detail. She was alone; everyone else had gone down to the Great Hall for the Yule Ball. Nobody believed her when she said she had a date, in fact nobody believed that she was even going. Not even Harry and Ron, her two best friends in the whole world. She sighed and walked over to one of the huge, red couches and picked up her purse. She turned on her heel and walked towards the portrait of the fat lady. As she was about to leave she stopped and pulled out her wand. Chanting an incantation, a mirror slowly appeared in front of her. She stared into it and smiled at her reflection that stared back at her. For once in her life she actually felt beautiful.
Getting rid of the mirror, she walked out of the portrait and down the stairs towards the Great Hall. Once she only had one more staircase to go, she stopped and peered round the side of one of the pillars. There, at the bottom of the stairs stood Harry with Parvati. I wonder where Ron is she thought. Her eyes spied Viktor at the opposite side of the entrance hall and she forgot all about the whereabouts of her so called friend. This is my time to shine Hermione thought as she came out from behind the pillar and started walking down the stairs slowly so she wouldn't trip. Every eye was on her and she couldn't stop the smile from appearing on her face. As she passed Harry and Parvati she heard Parvati whisper 'She looks gorgeous' and the smile on Hermione's face grew even bigger. She approached Viktor who immediately put his arm out for her to hold.
"You look beautiful" he whispered in her ear making her blush.
Hermione and Viktor took their places at the front of the line of Triwzard champions waiting to go into the Great Hall. The two large doors opened and they made their way through the crowd to the dance floor. All eyes were on Hermione, even when Viktor's protective arm was around her shoulders, signalling that no one was dancing with her except him. All through the night Viktor kept repeating those same three words to Hermione. She knew she wasn't the prettiest or most popular girl in school, but this was the night where her true beauty would really shine through.

It had been two years since that evening, and Hermione hadn't felt the same way since. Yet again, she was alone but she was sitting on a staircase with tears rolling down her cheeks. Why do I always let things get to me she thought. She heard footsteps coming from the steps behind her and turned around to find it was only Harry. She gave him a weak smile as he sat down beside her.
"Are you okay?" he asked her putting his arm around her shoulder.
"Do I look like I'm okay?" she snapped turning her head sharply to look at him "Sorry" she said looking back at the ground.
They heard footsteps coming from round the corner and they looked up to see Ron & Lavender running whilst holding hands. Hermione shot a glare at them, making Lavender retreat.
"Come on Won Won, this space is occupied" as she turned and lead Ron away. Ron looked over his shoulder and saw Hermione look at him in anger.
"Hermione, calm down" said Harry, squeezing her shoulder slightly "Wait a minute, do you like Ron?"
Hermione looked at Harry confusingly.
"As in like like?" he asked.
"You mean do I love him" she asked.
"Yeah" Harry said looking down, wishing he hadn't asked her.
"Yes" Hermione replied.
This was the first time in Hermione's life that she could admit to someone she was in love.
