Anakin returned to their palace, tired from the temple seige. One particular Jedi had proven difficult to kill, and had managed to score a hit on his chest with his sword, only half an inch deep. He didn't get it treated and came to Ahsoka first, making sure the person he was sacrificing everything for was all right.
Anakin parked his speeder into the balcony and rushed inside, and found Ahsoka waiting for him, as though expecting him. Wasting no time, he hugged her tightly, needing to know she was real, there for him. She drew his mouth to hers, waiting.
Anakin could feel something whispering to him, a disturbance in the force, but he didn't listen. Nothing could happen while he was with Ahsoka. Nothing would harm her as long as he lived.
Ahsoka wrapped her left arm around his back, and rested her right hand on his chest, just above his heart, returning the kiss deeply.
Quitely, she opened the drawer beside them, and summoned a vibroblade, the sharpest in the galaxy, to her right hand.
Anakin reached down to grab Ahsoka by the waist, returning the kiss deeply.
Suddenly a sharp pain pulsated through his chest. He gasped for air. He looked down to see a knife sticking out of his chest, in his already fresh wound, half length deep, still gripped tightly in Ahsoka's small hand.
"Snips" he gasped.
He could not breathe. A trickle of blood came out of his chest.
She flipped him over, now he was on his back, as Ahsoka stared tearfully into his blue eyes, hesitating to plunge the knife deeper.
She made her decision, to rid her husband of his prison. Anakin watched as she pushed the knife hilt deep, deep in his chest and into his heart.
His chest felt like it was on fire. He opened his mouth to speak, only to find he couldn't breathe. He gasped, trying to get air into his lungs and throwed his arms around.
He was only pain, his lungs contracting painfully, as air filled his chest.
His hands scrabbled uselessly, batting at the knife in his chest. Ahsoka gripped it tightly, not allowing to be moved.
Ahsoka waited until he stopped breathing, and walked out of the palace and into the night.
