His eyes open to blinding white, he rapidly blinks his eyes to dissipate the sun spots and stands. Looking around he sees a door to his left, he walks closer and examines it. The wood is a dark mahogany and is roughly hewn, engraved in silver were two does each bearing dark emeralds for eyes. He reaches out his hand brushing the length of ones back; he blinks and finds himself in an old playground.
"Hello Severus."
He turns, his eyes widening not only because of the greeting but also the one who had issued it. "Albus?"
"Yes Severus it is me."
"Where is this?"
This is nowhere." Dumbledore said airily, "But that isn't important. Rather tell me, does Harry know what he has to do?"
"Yes." Harry knows what he has to do, along with everything else. "He knows."
"Do you think he will do it Severus?"
Severus thinks back to the last thing he saw of the living world. They were right when they said he had his mother's eyes but that wasn't the only thing. Harry, he realized, wasn't his fathers son, they may have shared talents, looks and defiance for rules but he would always have his mothers heart, compassion, and bravery. It was because of this that he could look Albus in the eye and say, "Yes, I believe he will."
"I am glad but you must go now, someone is waiting for you."
Taking one last look around, Severus's eyes focused on a swing set which held Lily weeping tears of joy for the man who had always held her heart, even when her love belonged to another.
