The inspiration for this set:
"I feel awful that I never even have time to make you a cup of tea!" – Sable
"You've never heard K.K. Slider?!" Sable's quiet voice was rarely loud. Her paws stopped on the sewing machine, for once. "That won't do."
Villager blushed under her thoughtful gaze. He was still new in town, didn't recognize the singer she spoke of with such admiration. He looked at the sewing machine, wheel and spindle spinning again as if it'd never stopped.
"Villager, come by here at nine on Saturday," the freckled hedgehog said conversationally. "We'll go watch him perform. It's free after all, and everyone will be there!"
Mabel whined about watching the shop alone, but her older sister laughed.
Walking down the hill, Villager plucked a wild flower from the ground. He jokingly gaver her it, as a gift. "A purple tulip? They used to be so rare here, you know," she said, carefully putting it up in her hair. It looked pretty on her, he thought.
"Town's been so pretty lately," she continued, "all the different trees and flowers really spice it up."
Villager was happy to spend time with Mabel. She knew so many things, and it interested him to learn from her.
Her almond-coloured fur dimpled when she laughed. "No no, he plays at The Roost!"
"Drink up before it gets cold," Sabel teased. Villager pouted, tongue singed.
"You could've waited!"
Villager was prevented from responding by the lights dimming down. The mysterious dog, K.K. Slider, started singing, strumming his guitar to words. Everyone at the bar was captivated by the song, a love ballad.
Afterwards he approached the singer to thank him, but he was so modest. "The music just plays me, y'know?"
Villager confessed to Sabel that he didn't know. She giggled.
They walked back to the shop, so she could close up. "See you there next week!"
Villager grinned the whole way home.
