Chapter One: Love

Love. A four letter word with a million meanings. Love for family members, my old family and my new. Love for my daughter, Renesmee, who inspires me to live life to the fullest. Love for my friend, Jacob, and love for my amazing husband, Edward. Without him, I would be nowhere.

I never realized I could love a certain city, though.

Forks, Washington. Population: 3120. Rarely sunny, very rainy. Lots of green. There are trees at every corner. It almost seems like a spider-you're never really more the 6 feet away from one.

More people would rather live in big cities with lots of apartments and buildings, with the sound of taxis and horns honking. But my family and I are far from normal, and I guess that's why we want to live in Forks forever, but, as we all know, forever is a long time.

I sat impatiently on the long white sofa in my new home with my vampire family, the Cullens. My father in-law, Carlisle, walked back in forth from one end of the room to another. I could feel my tension rising. I held my daughter, Renesmee, on my lap as my husband, Edward, put his arm around me. My new brothers and sisters sat haphazardly around the room, waiting for their father to speak.

"As you all know," Carlisle stated, "we must leave a city and move into a new one every few years. Well, you all have graduated from Forks High School, and we have to keep up appearances"

I looked over at my sister in-law and one of my closest friends, Alice, nervously tap her foot on the floor. She knew what was progressing, her special ability was to see the future.

Carlisle continued, "So, after thinking for a very long time, Esme and I have decided to move our family to a different location. There, you will enroll in a new high school, leave on sunny days, and, of course, hunt on weekends."

I was speechless. My first reaction was to look at Edward. His golden eyes seem hard and concerned. I looked over to Alice who, since she knew she was right about her prediction, closed her eyes and breathed deeply. My daughter Renesmee hugged me, as I smoothed her curly hair which helped me calm down, as well.

"So, where are we going to go?" Edward was the first to speak. I could hear the tension in his voice.

"I researched areas, most of which were ether too sunny or not enough rain, but then I remembered living in London, England back in 1954."

The Cullens, minus myself, marvelled at the memory. London, England was a very beautiful place, but how would I ever visit my dad, Charlie, or my mom Renee, who lived in Florida? Millions of thoughts ran though my brain, until I remembered the day Edward told me he was a vampire. Thousands of different thoughts running through my head, but I needed to be with him. A need, not a want. Very vague memories of my human life, but even though I felt it was unexpected, I was always in for adventure. I survived 3 nomadic, thirsty vampires; jumping from a cliff hundreds of feet tall; and I also survived what everyone thought was impossible: the birth of my half-vampire, half-human daughter, Renesmee. I knew I could survive leaving this small town to somewhere else. Or so I thought.
