Sup, guys. I've been contemplating on how to write this fanfic for a while, and I think I've got it now.

Annie's P.O.V.
Why does everyone want me to play chess with Arlert? It's pointless- I am the best chess-player here, so there is no way Arlert can beat me. This entire thought is disrupting the little peace we have left. Oh great- here comes Captain Levi.
"Leonhart, You must play a game of chess against Arlert," he deadpanned, bored.
"Why, might I ask, should I do such an atrocity? This game of chess will disrupt the little peace we have left." I really don't care if this isn't even correct logic- I am not playing chess against Arlert.
"One, I have made a bet with Hanji, and I don't plan on losing. Two, there hasn't been any 'peace' for a hundred years." With that, he stalked off. Who knew bets were so important to people. Wow- amazing timing to show up, Hanji.
"Beat him, Annie. And after you beat him, feel free to beat up Levi to give me the money he owes me!" she laughed and walked away. I have a feeling everyone is in on this. Suddenly, Reiner appeared. He ran around the corner, picked me up, threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, and ran down the hallway.
"Put me down, Reindeer!" I shouted and kicked him in his stomach.
"Ow! Shut up, Annie! The guys made a bet against the girls to see who would win in a game of chess- you or Armin. Obviously, we bet on Armin while the girls bet on you. Now, we set up a chess board and everything for the showdown. Eren's getting Armin," he entered a room and set me down next to a chair in front of a small table that held a chessboard and pieces.
"You set it up wrong," I muttered. As I changed the arrangement of the pieces, Eren barged into the room dragging Armin behind him.
"What took you so long?" Reiner complained.
"Captain Levi had to kick down his door to get him out," he explained, shoving Armin into the seat opposite of mine. I sat down, too. As a bunch of people filed in through the door, I muttered to Armin, "Alright, let's get this over with."
Levi stepped up to Armin and said, "You better beat her," while Hanji stepped up to me and said, "Just do your best. If not, then I WILL KILL YOU!" But after, she just laughed and stepped back. I looked away from Hanji and glanced at Armin.
"Good luck?" he offered.
"You, too. You'll need it," I muttered darkly. And the game began. Since Armin had the white pieces, he went first. He moved the pawn in front of the bishop forward two spaces. Interesting move.
A/N: Because I am terrible at chess and its terms, I have decided to put in this line break because I don't know how to speak Chess.
A FEW MOVES LATER…*
"Shit, why is it so hard to beat him?!" I thought angrily to myself. Somehow, Arlert is actually good at playing chess. Like, really good. Like, so damn good he might be able to beat me. Fuck you, Arlert. Finally, after a few minutes of thinking, he moved his rook.
"Checkmate." My eyes widened as I stared at my king and his rook. He won! I looked up to see him give me a sheepish grin. Then he leaned forward and kissed me.
*Please do not take this literally.
Wow, that took a long time to write. I don't know why- I've been thinking about writing this fanfiction for a really long time. Oh well.
