Title: "Possibilities"

Summary: Samuel and Claire talked about the sense of possibilities in the air. Peter feels it when he sees Emma at the hospital. Spoilers for "Hysterical Blindness"

Disclaimer: I don't own "Heroes," Peter, or Emma.

Notes: So, song lyrics aren't allowed here. I'm playing it safe, and edited the story. Look up the third stanza of the lyrics for "The Greatest American Hero" theme song aka "Believe It or Not" to read what Peter's feeling. Thank you to the cast and crew of "Heroes" for giving us such outstanding Peter/Emma scenes so far.

They saw each other from across the room.

Peter couldn't help thinking of that old romantic cliché as he observed the file clerk noticing him. It was completely true in their case.

He saw her mime seeing the colors of the children's voices, asking if he saw them too. He looked from the colors to her and subtly nodded.

She smiled a little, watching him, and as he held her gaze, Peter couldn't hold back his own smile, feeling a rush of excitement course through him that made him bite his lip.

It was as if by sharing her ability, he had a key that could help him unlock the mysteries of the blonde woman across from him.

For the first time that day, he felt a sense of anticipation in the air, as if it was full of possibilities.

All the while, the children's choir had continued singing, and although Peter wasn't listening to the words of the song anymore, he was already feeling what they described.
