AN: This is a total crack fill I did for a prompt in the meme (le gasp). I did it a while ago, but it's one of my favorites that I've done. Don't judge me too harshly for this.
"So the fish really sing?" M'gann asked.
"Of course they don't," Wally scoffed, shaking his head in amusement. "He can just hear their voices cause he's, like, a fish-boy."
Superboy frowned, a common occurrence made more understandable under the circumstances. "I don't see what this has to do with The Little Mermaid," he muttered.
Aqualad fixed him with a blank look. "We are discussing how similar Atlantis is to the world of The Little Mermaid."
"How do singing fish fit into that?" Superboy pushed, still confused.
M'gann reached out her hand, giving Superboy's knee a friendly pat. The clone was sitting next to her at the kitchen counter, having been eating what appeared to be a cookie when the subject was brought up. "The fish sing in The Little Mermaid," she explained.
"... Oh," Superboy said, pretending to understand. "I see."
Wally turned an amused glance towards the bigger boy, a small smile on his lips. "Oh, Superboy," he murmured before he turned his attention back to Aqualad. "So all the fish can sing? And there's little crabs that give advice to the king?"
Aqualad nodded sagely. "Of course," he replied. "What else would they do?"
Wally and M'gann made appreciative murmurs at the response, looking at each other so as to better share their amazement. M'gann finally turned back to Kaldur, a frown marring her lips. "So there's also a wicked octopus lady?"
Kaldur's look communicated a general feeling of 'well, duh, everyone knows that'. "Yes," he said slowly, "but we refer to her as a sea witch."
"What about Ariel?" Wally asked. "Is she real?"
A pained grimace crossed Aqualad's face. "Our princess," he whispered, "is very similar to the Russian princess that was killed."
"Anastasia?" Wally provided, now thoroughly shocked.
"Yes. We regard her curse by the sea witch Ursula and our subsequent loss of her to the human world to be one of the greatest tragedies of this century." Aqualad blinked rapidly, trying to dispel the sudden welling of tears from his eyes.
"Oh, dude, I'm totally sorry, I didn't know." Wally looked at Kaldur warily, praying that the Atlantean wouldn't start crying because of his insensitivity. "We can change the subject," he suggested, giving M'gann a pointed look.
"Errmm..." M'gann bit her lip, trying to think of a suitable subject chance. "Uh..."
There was a slight whizz as the door shot open and Robin walked into the kitchen. He looked around at the assembled group surrounding the counter. "... What's going on?"
Aqualad had the grace to look slightly embarrassed when M'gann responded with, "Kaldur's telling us about Atlantis and how similar it is to The Little Mermaid!"
Robin raised an eyebrow, glancing first at the cheerful Martian, then Wally, then Superboy, and finally Aqualad, who was attempting to appear stoic. The Boy Wonder snorted.
"Yeah. Whatever." He walked to the fridge and, ignoring the stares that followed him, grabbed a soda and left the room.
A minute of silence passed. Wally finally broke the silence.
"So, like, do you have a tail like Ariel's?"
