AN: This short series of drabbles was written for babyboysamwinchestor on tumblr. I feel like this started off as one thing and ended up as something else. I know where I'm going with this, as strange as these seem. But I hope you enjoy them either way. There will probably be about 7-10 of these drabbles in this series.

i. Fears

It was in November of his junior year of high school that Kurt Hummel followed him into the boy's locker room and confronted him. He came through the doors like a raging storm. The fury that emanated from his small frame was enough to put the namesake for his fist to shame.

He pointed out all of his insecurities. All of his doubts. All of his fears. And he had deserved it. He wasn't stupid, as much as he tried to prove otherwise.

Hummel had expected him to raise his fist... To strike him down... Put him in his place as he had done time and time again.

But all he could do was kiss the boy.

He didn't know why he wanted to. What was it that this guy had and all the Cheerios lacked? The boy with the long sweaters and tight pants, who he had shown nothing but utter contempt towards for as long as he knew him. The boy with all the love and support. It wasn't that he liked Hummel. He was everything he hated. And Dave would never allow himself to show that much vulnerability again. It couldn't be love, he wanted to tell himself. Hummel was a dude, and a loser at that. So why had he gone in for a second kiss and why did he flee, nearly in tears, after being pushed away, feeling that much more broken than before?

The next day he threatened to kill Hummel if he told anyone about what happened.

And as far as he knew, that wasn't love.
