'Tell Claudia Brown… Never mind, doesn't matter' and with that Professor Nick Cutter died. His head resting on Connor's shoulder. The light faded from his eyes.
'Cutter! Cutter, Nick Cutter wake up' she called helplessly as she cradled his body.
Cutter's eyes opened to a bright and blurry world. All he knew for certain was that a woman was holding him. Her voice sounded familiar but he couldn't quite place it.
Slowly the world around him came into focus, and so did the brunette holding him.
'Cutter? Are you ok?' she asked, her hand caressing his cheek.
'Claudia Brown' he whispered, 'Sorry, Jenny' he corrected.
'Jenny?' Claudia asked.
'Claudia? It's really you isn't it?' he asked.
'Who else would it be?' she replied.
A smile formed on his lips, her eyes filled with tears.
'What happened? Where are we?' he asked.
Claudia dried her eyes, and thought for a moment. 'Let's just say you fell through an anomaly.' She answered.
