Disclaimer: I don't own Monk but I do own this story
Monk was just getting used to group therapy when a new member joined. That new member was Warrick Tennyson.
Oh you've got to be kidding me, Monk thought to himself when he walked in
"Monk glad you're here," said Dr. Bell, "we have a new member. Today we are working on anger communication and it's perfect that Warrick is here… that way you can practice your anger communication"
"Anger communication," Monk asked
"Yes now I want you to sit down across from Warrick"
Oh you've got to be kidding me, Monk thought to himself, you mean I actually have to look at that… thing?
Still he did as Dr. Bell requested.
"Now I want you to explain to Warrick why you are angry that he made the bomb that killed your wife"
Oh you have seriously got to be joking, Monk thought to himself.
"Okay," he said. Then he did that thing with his hands and slapped Warrick. The other group members cracked up.
"Now Adrian," Dr. Bell reprimanded gently, "use your words"
Monk nodded.
"I am FURIOUS about what you did," he told Warrick, "because you are a (insert word here) mental case. I don't care how (insert word here) desperate you are there is no (insert word here) excuse for what you did"
"I know," Warrick said, "but maybe I've been punished enough"
"I DON'T SEE ICE IN HELL," Monk replied
"Well Adrian before you came in he did tell us how you turned off his morphine when he was sick and in agony"
"You're (insert word here) (insert word here) right I did. I wanted this (insert word here) to feel the pain that I felt when I lost her. I wanted him to feel the pain Trudy felt when the (insert word here) car went up in flames and she was caught in it. I'd do it again too"
"Mr. Monk," Warrick said, "can't you forgive me? Can't we be friends?"
"What! I should forgive you? Are you even (insert word here) stupider then I thought.
"Why in the (insert word here) hell would I be your friend? Give me one possible reason why"
"To be fair," Dr. Bell said, "you did forgive Harold and you are friends with Harold"
"There's a difference between being an idiot and being an (insert word) murderer"
"I'd prefer not being called an idiot," Harold told Monk.
"I'm sorry Harold but you know what I mean," Monk said
Then he paused
"You know what," he said, "this feels pretty good"
"You know what Adrian," Dr. Bell said, "I think I can recommend you for reinstatement now"
Monk left group therapy that day feeling (insert word here) good.
