Like I said in the summary, this was for school (English). We had to write a story involving persuasion, and, even though, in a way, I did, I didn't do it the way she wanted it. So... yeah. Anyway...
Disclaimer: NOOO!! I freakin' DON'T!
Sweet Snow
It was a day like any other; shining sun, puffy white clouds, clear purple sky… the usual. He loved laying in the meadows and watching the clouds float by, it relaxed him in a way nothing else could… well, except maybe ONE other thing.
"HIEI!" a voice called over the silent calm of the day. Speak of the devil, he thought, snickering mentally. He sat up and looked behind him to see his best friend running towards him, red hair flying about behind him as he ran. You could say he looked… kind of girlish, but Hiei didn't mind. For that matter, he didn't really care either; judging people by looks was something he'd never do, especially with the way he himself looked. Short, childish, everything that pretty much discouraged others from thinking of him as older and mature. Which he was, fifteen years old is quite mature, most would say.
"You don't have to shout, Kurama," he said when his friend reached him, placing his hands on his knees and panting. "I could have heard you or you could have waited to get over here." When his friend shook his head, he raised an eyebrow and asked why.
"B-because," he stuttered out, still catching his breath, "I… I need to ask you something. And you also told me not to sneak up on you anymore," he added smugly. Hiei muttered something along the lines of 'yeah, yeah, smart aleck…' and mumbled, "So what is it?"
"Hm? Oh, right. Well, I know how much you don't like parties…"
"Oh, just stop now."
"But it won't be as bad as the last one…"
"That's what you said last time."
"There won't be as much pink…"
"I'll bet." Sarcasm all over that.
"Oh, come on Hiei. It's more fun when you're there." Kurama pleaded, using his puppy dog look on his friend. He knew it wouldn't work though, it never did. Hiei wasn't someone who liked CUTE things. Dark and mysterious were more to his liking. It was a wonder how he got along with his sister so well. Or Kurama for that matter.
"If you come… I'll buy you that jacket you've been eyeing for awhile now."
"Nope."
"I… won't tease you so much?"
"Not buying it."
"WHY won't you come?!" he asked in exasperation.
"Shouldn't last time give you an answer?"
"Eh… good point. What if I help you with your chores for a year?"
"Would you quit? I'm not going. End. Of. Story."
"Can I try one more thing?" he asked pleadingly.
Hiei sighed, exasperated. "WHAT?"
"How about I buy you Sweet Snow? When ever you want it."
That hooked him. Hiei might not have liked sweet things, like puppies and kittens, but oh, how he loved Sweet Snow. It was his favorite brand of ice-cream, and unfortunately, Kurama knew it. He had just discovered Hiei's sweet tooth when his mother taught him how to make cinnamon rolls, and when he asked Hiei to be taste tester… well, let's just say none were left. Then when he found Hiei eating the creamy substance, he laughed so hard that Hiei ended up smacking him to keep him quiet. Now this was being used against him.
"Curse you, Kurama…" he huffed.
"So is that a yes?"
"Hn," he snorted, "let's just go before you end up making me do something else I'll regret later." He added silently to himself, 'you're to cunning, sly… like a dang fox.'
"Yes! Thank you so much Hiei!" he grabbed his wrist and drug him off in the direction he'd come in before. Lately, he could persuade Hiei to do almost anything with his precious Sweet Snow on the line. He laughed at the thought. Hiei just thought he was mocking him and sent a death glare his way… he'd get even one of these days…
