BLEACH, Orihime Inoue-centric (implied Orihime/Ulquiorra) & her heart is (always) on her sleeve

"Girl…Are you scared of me?" He's starting to disappear before their eyes, as though he were made of nothing but sand.

There is a sudden panic—or is it sadness?—that runs through her, envelopes her.

She has never feared him. Not entirely, not beyond the call of survival; as there were times, yes, when a voice inside her echoed the sentiment of so many: He is dangerous, you see.

And he was, once.

But now, as he disappears fear grips her. It strangles her and takes hold of her, like a snake constricting the air from her lungs.

At his weakest she fears him. She fears that she will never see him again.

And she doesn't understand why she feels this way.

"I'm not scared," she answers. Her brows knit and unconsciously she moves to him, not too sure what she will do once she gets to him. (No, that's not entirely correct: she has a vague clue.)

She reaches for his hand, she can feel the heat radiating off of him, his fingertips (he is so close), and—

He is gone.
