The Perfect Proposal

Summary: Tezuka seems a little . . . talkative today.

A/N: Lyric poetry that doesn't feel like one.

Warning: OOC but he's proposing to a woman so what the hell.

. . . . . . .

I'm just a man coaching a small tennis team

And I do not make a lot of money.

I can not promise you a flat-screen television

And a large leather couch to go with it.

I can't buy you diamond rings

Or orient-pearl necklaces.

I have debts to pay

But I pay them with honesty.

I cannot afford a mortgage

So I probably can't buy you a house

But maybe we can just build it alone.

I'll do the hammering, you do the decorations.

And we can stay there together

With the child of our own.

He will have your eyes and hair.

He will have my nose and wits.

I will teach him my sport.

And we will duel in court.

And he will grow up smart and good.

I will not make a good soldier.

You know I am anything but violent and cruel.

I do not start fights.

But if they hurt you tonight,

I'll draw blood and snap their heads with might.

I am Tezuka Kunumitsu.

And I am just a man.

I have flaws and I am no perfect.

I do not know everything

And I have a lot of inhibitions

But I trust myself to be sure of this:

I know how to be a good man to you.

We can walk together

And I will hold your hand tight.

I can not say where we'll go

Or where the path will lead us

But I will stay by your side

Until I die.

I have a lot of plans.

I want to have a car,

Study law,

Win a game for my team.

In all of this plans that I make,

I want to do them all with you by my side.

I do not care if you grow old.

Even if you have wrinkles on your face

Or your bone cartilages are giving away,

It doesn't matter

Because we will grow old together.

So will you marry me?

. . . . . . .
