'I was never dating your father'. That is what Ava said to him which went on repeat in his head. All Connor could do was watch her leave, with his feet frozen to the corridor floor. Did he just assume all day she dating his dad without realizing the possibility of it being a joke? Did he just admit out loud his feelings? That he wants more than co-worker slash sort of friendship that they comfortably have. Then instantly recognizing the implications given she walked away instead of saying her feelings. How could he not realize they were one-sided? Did he just ruin everything for nothing? He had to find her, knowing he couldn't ruin this again. He found her sitting on the locker room bench, clutching her head and staring at her locker.

C: Ava? Are you okay?

A: "Just fine" she said raising her head and looking directly into his eyes. Her expression clearly showing her to be fed up. "Also we can forget what was said about me dating others."

C: What? Why I did mean what I said?

A: Come on. The only reason you said it is because you thought I was dating your father, which I can't even understand why you would think that. I get it you two have your issues but please don't use me as some sort of ping pong between you both. Do I seem easy, is that it? Connor sat next to her with so much confusion to what was just spoken.

C: WHAT? Of course not. I have respect for you. Whatever my dad is doing I don't know. But what I do know is that I have feelings for you. So do you feel the same way?

As Ava was about to reply, her pager went off. "Emergency thoracotomy. Sorry, we can talk later okay. I got to go." She said while rushing out of the room. Before she left he told her to text him when she's finished to talk more. Something about her, created this urge not to give up.

Hours later after catching up alone on the latest Jimmy Fallon show, his phone vibrated. Ava calling.

C: Hey, how was the surgery?

A: It went considering well. He almost died on us a couple of times.

C: I'm glad he made though. If your not busy now or tired, why don't you come to mine and we can finish talking.

A: Umm.. sure. Be there soon.

As soon as the call ended Connor ran around the apartment, picking things up. He wanted to make sure things were tidy. He had just finished when he heard a knock at the front door. After letting her in. They were one glass of red wine in, sitting on his sofa and still have not said a word about what really needed to be said. Trying to cut the tension Ava started to talk, look directly at him. While fiddling her hands.

A: Yes I do have feelings for you. But this can't be anything. Your not exactly the one woman type of guy are you? You said it yourself that's not you anymore.

C: Yeah but that was before I started to realize that I having feelings for you.

At that moment, they both stared at each other. Connor closing the gap between them on the sofa before pulling her into a soft passionate kiss which led to the bedroom for hours.
