Jack ran in to the main hub looking panicked. He was only wearing a towel around his waist and was still soaking wet from his shower. When weevil hunting the team had gotten muddy and had a shower at work, in spate cubicles-to Jack's annoyance.
As he ran into the hub Jack held his right hand close to his chest, his finger and thumb touching as if he held something in-between them.
Tosh and Gwen sat at Tosh's desk; they had been looking at something on Tosh's computer. Owen was on the sofa under the TORCHWOOD sign and Ianto walked around giving out coffees. He only held his own and Jack's while starring at Jack perplexed. The others looked up when Jacks shoeless footsteps echoed the halls. They all starred at Jack waiting for him to explain. He didn't.
"Sir?" Ianto asked carefully.
Jack face was consorted in panic. His mouth opened and closed for a moment as he tried and failed to form words.
Everyone frowned when Jack didn't speak, he wasn't one to freak out and freeze when in danger, "Jack? What's wrong?" Gwen asked, speaking softly trying not to scare her boss. Jack lifted up his right hand, away from his chest to show them something. Nobody could see what he held from the distance and they all shared a quick look before Ianto-who was already standing-placed down his own coffee on the desk nearest, Gwen's, and holding out Jack's coffee. He slowly and cautiously began walking towards his friend and Captain, holding out Jacks coffee as a peace offering. Ianto's face held in a soft and caring expression, concern coming through his eyes. His steps were hesitant but determinedly as though one would walk when approaching an animal. Ianto finally reached Jack and looked down at what was in the man's hand. It looked like a small silver hair. "A hair sir?"
"It's grey." Jack told him softly. "I have a grey hair."
Nobody was sure whether Jack was happy or sad about this new development.
