Her finger coil around the mike, her voice reverberating off the stage and far into the audience who chant her name in unison; the public has grown to adore her all over again.
He had left to be with a family that had dumped him in unfamiliar surroundings, for their careers where always more important than him. She remembers how she would go on endlessly, trying to find the real her, how she had always confided in him.
He was the strong, silent type. She remembers how he'd lean in to kiss her, the warmth that radiated from him.
She remembers each day that she had neglected to really get to know him in turn.
That, perhaps, he would have stayed.
