Their time was coming to a close. All they wanted to do was spend forever in each others arms, but they knew that would never happen. No one knew of their relationship, they did a good job to keep it a secret. But they didn't have to worry anymore.

"I'm scared. I don't want to die."

"Everything's going to be fine. At least you don't have to worry about protecting a family." Harry glared at him. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean it like that."

"I know you didn't." Harry snuggled closer. "You are my family, Draco."

They stayed like that for some time, until they heard the first scream. It had started. Lives would be lost for a cause that wasn't guarantying victory. Voldemort had struck, and nothing could stop him. Nothing but Harry.

Time seemed to disappear at the blink of an eye. Soon Harry would have to face Voldemort at his most powerful. Draco would have to make a life changing decision, one he would do anything to avoid. Despite it being dark in the forbidden forest, Harry knew Draco was worried about something.

"Please don't worry. It's all going to be fine. When all this is over, you'll see. We'll be happier than ever."

"I know." Draco hid his doubt well. It was louder now. It was as if the war was just meters away from them, but they knew they wouldn't be found.

"You'll stay with me?"

"Harry, please stop being so worried." He kissed his forehead as a tear slid down his face. He knew what was coming, but couldn't bring himself to tell Harry. Harry assumed their time would end because he had to face Voldemort. Draco knew different. He had to choose between Harry and saving his own family.

"You must go."

"No. I'm staying here."

"Please. You're the only one who can end this." Draco stood up and pulled Harry to his feet. They gazed into each others fearful eyes. They were like that for several moments, hoping that they could freeze time. They walked together, hand in hand, to the edge of the forest.

"I want you to know Harry, I love you." Draco put his head in his hands and started to cry. He had made his mind up.

"I love you too." Harry embraced Draco, unaware it was probably their last hug. They let go and stepped away from each other, only their fingertips were touching. They parted ways in the darkness.

That was the last they saw of each other.

A/N This is a one shot. I could do more if you wanted, but I needed a break from Mysterious Entity. I was inspired by the song Just Tonight by The Pretty Reckless.
