I walked through the thin layer of snow. It was still snowing a little bit and the cold breeze felt like a new breath of fresh air. Yes, the season was slowly changing from autumn to winter. The november wind felt cool against my face, but it wasn't cold, it was.. nice. It had started snowing not too long ago. Just two hours earlier, you could see the grey street and the yellow grass.
As I walked I observed the scenery quietly. It was just before dinner and I was on my way home, grocery bags grasped tightly yet loosely in my hand. I had my jacket on and my keys safely in my pocket.
I walked and thousands of thoughts filled my head when I saw the little snowflakes fall down the sky. Soon, it stopped and the night became even more quiet. I trudged through the snow and looked forward. The snow was perfect, no one had touched it yet. It was void of any filth, just white.
I looked up at the sky again. It was dark, I couldn't see the stars yet. I looked at the ground, seeing only my footsteps on the snow.
The whole scenery had become white. It was comfortable just.. watching. Quietly watching. The air was cold, but warm at the same time.
To him, this was much better then any rain. Any chocolate cake. Any sweet.
It washed all his worries, all his nervousness and became.. his peace. With his nose and fingertips coloured pink, he continued on his journey home. With a sigh, he saw that he was closer and closer back home. He began walking a little bit slower, savouring the moment longer. But, of course he knew he had to reach his destination soon, puffin was getting hungry by this time, he sighed again. Slightly disappointed this time.
But when he was home, with his keys out, ready to open the door he couldn't help but look back again. After a while he smiled and opened the door to his house, finally letting the warm air greet him. Puffin was happily waiting for him in the living room and immediately went straight to him. He quickly made dinner and ate it silently, with puffin at his side eating it's own share.
He looked out the window one last time before going to bed.
A/N:
Wow, first time submitting a story. Altough it's kinda a drabble. This.. kinda came to me when I was walking home after an extra drama class and it started snowing. THE PLOT BUNNIES ATTACKED ME!
