Dean's eyelashes flutter as he is hit by sunlight breaking through the trees, brightening the previously ominous forest. Colorful leaves skitter over his feet. Squirrels chatter and birds resume chirping, peace instantaneously returning to the formerly cursed wood. Beside him Sam's face is pinched. He scrapes mud from his boots, wrings water from his jeans, lone remnants of their struggle. A cool breeze caresses Dean's face.
"We should hike more often, Sam."
He is met by Sam's disgruntled face, then his backside as Sam spins and heads down the trail, faintly squishing with each step.
Dean nods and breathes deep.
