A/N: Been on hiatus for almost over a year now, so, as part of my New Year's resolution, I'm finally submitting something! I wrote this short perspective a while ago, but just found it a few days ago. I dug it out, edited it some, and really liked it. So, this is just a little narrative from Lockon's POV from episode 26...y'know...his death scene and all...so yeah...enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don't own Gundam 00. Sunrise and Bandai do. If I did, this scene wouldn't even exist.

Drifting away into this deep abyss, I am struggling.

To breathe.

To see.

To think.

For now, I'm simply floating as my heart splits into fragments. The same as my life. My thoughts. My memories...And then I remembered. Who I was. Where I was. How could I forget, even for a second? The reason I was in this time and place, it was for them. All I had done, up 'till now, for them...

"Mom, dad, Amy..."

The words escaped my lips as I choked back the air it took to say them. I am calm, have accepted the fate I was delt. I would die, here, cold and alone. I watched the lights from the battle dance around me and let myself break apart in death. In the distance, I saw another light approaching. So he's back. I wonder...

"Setsuna...did you find your answer?"

I whispered. Suddenly, my heart, my life, was back. It couldn't be over, not yet! I still...the world. It filled me with a hot intensity that compelled me to one last action.

"Hey, you people down there..."

I reached out a hand, and it looked as if the world was in my grasp.

"...are you satisfied with the way the world is?"

In the distance, I could vaguely hear the sound of electricity...I could vaguely see my comrade racing towards me...I could vaguely wish for him to change in my place. Change himself. Change the world. I looked back down and focused all my attention on the twisted world before me.

"As for me..."

I formed my hand into a gun. I aimed it at the earth below and smiled; a sad smile, wrought with pain and rage.

"As for me...I hate it."

In the moment it took for me to shoot through the heart of the world, the remnants of the canonn exploded. I was engulfed in a shower of light...and was carried to the place where dreams make sense...
