'I was, I am
I once was her friend,
More innocent than a child.
I once was her only,
Yet I wasn't her same.
I used to be her joy,
My playing made her smile.
I once was her pet,
Just a tiny little cat.
I once was alive,
But I died because of him.
I am now her enemy,
A monster meant to be killed.
I am now her loss,
We are the same but different.
I am now her fear,
Gaurding her from herself.
I am now her soldier,
A thing from Hell at that.
I am now alive again,
But I'm still dead on the inside.
She is Alice
I am Cheshire.
I am no longer hers.'
Cheshire scanned over the poem he'd just written subconciously. How had he relized his feelings for Alice? And when? Was it when Break was merciful and had let him live? No, he was to full of hate then. Maybe when his dimention was obliterated? Of course not, he was too distracted with making it out alive. Try more recently! This is only the first thing to suggest how I feel for her... Cheshire thought, growling at himself. Think, think, think! Nothing. His mind was totally blank. "Dammit!" Cheshire hissed, quickly covering his mouth and looking around. He was lucky to be alive here, the least he could do is mind his manners.
Cheshire sighed, giving up. He flopped back into the grass, gratefull for the cool shade of the tree that day. Summer was so hot here, he'd almost rather has his dimention back. "Ah, there you are!" a soft female voice said, making him jump. He looked to his left to find the source of the voice to be Ada, Oz's younger sister. It ticked Cheshire off that he seemed to be the only male around here that hadn't noticed Ada's large breasts. He never even hinted on the fact until Break questioned him about it last week. "Hello, Ada." Cheshire grumbled and returned to sitting. The girl simply smile, though, it wasn't as annoying as her brother's smile. "Guess you wanted to hide from most of the people in Pandora, huh?" she mused, sitting beside him. "Yeah. Break won't stop bothering me and Alice still hasn't clued in that I'm even here...." he sighed. They sat under the tree in silence for a while, before Ada decided to pop in a comment. "What do you have there? Did you write a poem?" she asked, pointing at the notebook in Cheshire's hands. "N-no! It's nothing!" he stammered, blushing furiously. "C'mon! Let me see it Cheshy!" Ada said, using her nickname for him as she reached for it. Cheshire held it an arms length away from her. "I-it's nothing! R-really, Ada!" he said, gasping slightly as she put one arm on the other side of him and leaned. Ada fell suddenly, her belly in his lap and his notebook in her hand. "Got it!~" Ada sang as she rolled onto her back and scooted down so that her head was in his lap. He sighed, giving up. Cheshire playd with her hair as she read.
Ada obviously had finnished reading, but she skimmed over it a few more times before looking up at Cheshire and smiling at him. "That's so cute, Cheshy!" she squeeled and Cheshire simply groaned. "J-just don't tell her! And don't tell Sharon either!" he hissed, looking around to make sure no one else was around to hear. Ada smiled. "Okay, Cheshy..." she said, standing up. "Our little seceret!" she continued, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before turning around and running away. It took a moment for Cheshire to regester what had just happend, then he got up and took a few steps after her. "A-Ada! My notebook!" he called but she was already to far away to hear. He sighed, his ears flattening against his head. "Girls... they're so confusing." he muttered before a grin touched his lips. He chuckled. Ada really is strange...
