I don't own FullMetal Alchemist.
In that horrible, empty time after she had died, all Alphonse Elric had wanted was his mother.
When that plan failed, all he wanted was for himself and his brother to be whole again.
After those wandering years, devoid of any real attachments to anyone other than themselves, he reached for his goal.
When that plan failed, Alphonse was alone; Edward's selfless, stubborn nature had given him a body and a void in his heart and memory. All he wanted was to rebuild his life and find his brother.
And so Alphonse studied alchemy and Edward, or, at least, his life and self.
Years passed, and as golden eyes opened to meet amber, blonde hair splayed over the complex array, Alphonse Elric knew he'd finally succeeded.
