DISCLAIMERS & AUTHOR'S NOTE: I don't own Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. I'm just borrowing them from Hasbro for a bit. I'll give them back when I'm done with them. All the humans in the story are mine. Based in my AU but could fit into G1. Enjoy!
Why Giant Robots Don't Baby-sitSunstreaker shook his head. Sideswipe was seriously out of his mind this time.
"Are you sure about this? You have any idea of what you are getting into?"
"Of course, no problem. Watching the kids is easy. I watch Gwen do it all the time. It's a snap." Sideswipe snapped his fingers in a learned human gesture to demonstrate. Sunstreaker rolled his optics.
Sideswipe continued, ignoring or not noticing his twin's gesture. "Besides, she left me a list. What could be easier?"
Sunstreaker gave him an exasperated look. "Sideswipe, as much as I hate to give that annoying little flesh bag credit, does it ever occur to you that she makes looking after the kids look easy cause she's good at it? Are you sure you can even handle everything on that list?"
"Not a problem Sunny. Look, number one on the list: Give Andrea supper. It's made already; just have to plunk her in front of it. Number two, Bedtime at 8:30pm. Read her three stories and make sure she has her duck. What could be easier? Taking care of kids is no problem, I tell you," Sideswipe beamed triumphantly at his twin, waving the list.
Sunstreaker grabbed the list and scanned it as Andrea wandered in, duck in hand. She looked up at the two giants and walked over and patted on Sideswipe's leg.
"Unca Sai?" She blinked up at him with big blue eyes.
Sunstreaker finished the list with a snort. "Famous last words, Side. You didn't read this whole list, did you?"
Sideswipe looked down at the small girl. "One sec sweetie. No, but I'm sure I can handle it."
Andrea patted his leg again, more insistent. "Unca Sai?"
Sunstreaker looked down at her, raising an optic ridge and with another glance at the list, somehow, divined her inquiry. He looked back at Sideswipe with a smirk. "Oh really?"
Sideswipe glared at his brother as he crouched down to the little girl who was banging on his leg with all her might. "Yes, really. What is it sweetie? What can Unca Sai help you with?"
She looked at him with a slightly desperate expression. "Unca Sai, I hafta go potty."
Sunstreaker could stop the chuckle from the slightly horrified and completely baffled look that crossed his brother's face at those words. "And it says right here that you have to go in with her too. Just cause she's still getting the hang of it." The slight horror gave way to complete horror.
Sunstreaker brandished the list. "And just wait until Corey wakes up and you have to change his diaper."
Sideswipe's expression was priceless as he tried to figure out how he was not only going to fit into a room designed with only a minimal human occupancy to how he was going to replace a covering on a fragile human, smaller than the tip of his little finger. It reminded Sunstreaker of Prowl's face when he had a particularly bad logic crash.
Sunstreaker let that sink in a second before coming to his rescue. "Good thing for you she says here that Dawn is in charge and to ask her for help. If you need it, of course."
Sideswipe didn't answer. He was too busy scooping up the dancing child and running off to where he'd last seen Dawn.
Sunstreaker sat down, chuckling some more. He had planned on going cruising, to show himself off to the natives again, but it looked like staying in would be far more entertaining.
