A/N- Helloooo people. This story has been cooking in my brain for two months. So we'll see how it goes. I plan on making it an interactive story. I will have polls at the end of some chapters so you get to decide the fate of the characters. Exciting! I hope you enjoy. And um. I don't own Degrassi.. Duh.
...After the Lockdown...
Clare heard Eli gasp, from her position against the cold lockers. Eli slid down the wall until he hit the ground, his mouth partly open in shock. A scream escaped Clare's mouth as she ran over to Eli, Fitz laughing so hard behind them that he had to clutch his stomach to keep from dubbing over. He was so sick.
Eli was breathing heavily; he was fine, healthy... Alive. The knife stuck above him in the wall. Clare was still heaving from shock and horror. She choked, trying to catch her breath.
Clare shot up from bed. Every night since she had been at her grandmother's house Clare had relived Vegas Night. It was haunting her.
Clare walked into her bathroom to get ready for the long treck home from her grandmother's house. She gripped the countertop, looking in the mirror. Bags plagued her eyes, dark and heavy. Her hair was all over the place and her face was white and pasty like a ghost. Clare looked a mess.
She sighed as she stripped her clothes off and stepped into the shower, letting the warm water calm her down. When Clare had finished she felt a bit more relaxed, but still emotionally drained.
"Clare bear." Clare's grandmother placed her hand on top of Clare's comfortingly as they sat in the living room. She caught Clare staring off into space again. Everyone in the house had noticed how off Clare had been for the past week.
Clare's parents knew that there had been a knife scare at the school and changes were being made to Degrassi because of it. But they didn't know Clare or Eli were involved. Clare's parents didn't even know Eli existed. Clare didn't want to tell them. She didn't wish to discuss it just yet. Maybe she never would. Clare knew her parents would freak out and make a big deal out of it. It was a big deal, but she relived it enough in her dreams. Clare didn't need to relive it in reality too.
"I'm fine grandma, just thinking." Clare told her grandmother with a transparent smile.
"Time to go Clare." Mrs. Edwards came down the stairs with her luggage, her husband coming down behind her. They had made peace for the duration of the trip. They knew Clare was hurting. So, they walked on eggshells around her. They didn't want to push her and set her off. They also didn't want Helen's religious mother to freak out. They knew a divorce was coming and they didn't want Clare's grandma to know yet. She would overreact and freak out. It wasn't christian to get divorced in her eyes.
"Help me load up the car Clare Bear?" Mr. Edward asked her.
"Of course." Clare responded like a zombie, slowly rising up from her spot next to her grandmother.
Once the car was packed they all piled in and started their long trek home. Clare pressed her forehand against the window in the back seat. It didn't take long for her parents to start arguing. Clare pulled out Eli's headphones and put them on. She stared out the window and her eyes darted back and forth, watching the landscape go rushing by.
Eli... Clare didn't know what to do about him. She really liked him. But, she couldn't take the fighting and not knowing what would happen to him next.
She needed to talk to him. Clare didn't know what she was going to do yet. It kind of depended on what he says to her. But, she'd had enough time to gather and collect her thoughts.
