It was mid evening in the Village Hidden in the leaves, and Ino was walking down the sidewalk of an empty street. She heaved a sigh and looked up.
'Why can't I get him off my mind?' she asked herself. 'He takes up half my thoughts, and when we train together my heart beats so fast I can barely breathe!' She then kicked a small pebbled. 'And he obviously doesn't like me. He's too stubborn to take notice to any girl.'
The blonde looked over to her left and hid fast, trying to control the growing blush that was inching across her face like a caterpillar. 'Oh great, it's him…' she thought to herself once more, hiding behind the fat tree.
She heard him sigh heavily and say 'How troublesome…" 'Troublesome? What could be bothering him?' Ino thought, and then straightened her outfit.
She took a deep breath and walked out from behind the tree. "Hey. Is something wrong?"
Shikamaru turned to look at her. "Wha—Oh, hey Ino. No, nothings wrong."
Ino nodded. "Then what's troubling you?" she asked.
"Just…someone…" he answered, looking at the sky. "It's such a drag…"
There was a long silence, where all you could hear were the crickets chirping.
"So… who's this someone?" Ino asked, blushing even more.
"You know her." He said without a stutter, looking at the sky the whole time.
Ino had a puzzled look. "Really, who? Sakura? Hinata?"
"No, and no." he answered simply.
"Then who?!" Ino asked, temper rising.
"Telling you would ruin everything." He said, and Ino noticed a small blush?!? Appearing on his cheeks.
"Everything being…?" she made a 'what?' signal with her arms.
"Everything." He said as her turned his head to look at her.
"Everything would ruin everything?" she said, puzzled. "What?"
He chuckled. And caressed her cheek in his hand. "Everything." He leaned in, and Ino couldn't believe it. He kissed her on the lips, passionately, both were blushing madly, and Ino was in shock. 'Is he kissing me?! No way! I've got to be dreaming or something!' Ino thought.
He then pulled away. 'Nope. Not dreaming.' She again thought to herself.
"You're my everything." He said. "Everything I hope us to be."
Ino smiled and hugged him. "I feel the same way."
