Every other weekend (Reid Garwin one-shot)

I do not own the Covenant in any way.

I loved her. Don't get me wrong, I loved her and still love her. We still meet in the same place, so I can pick up Lizzy and Jake.

"How are you?" Lily asked me.

"Oh, I'm fine", I said.

"Daddy!" Lizzy and Jake say hugging me.

"Hey guys", I said.

"Please have them on time this time", Lily said.

"Bye mommy", Lizzy and Jake say getting in the car.

"See you Sunday", she said getting in her car and driving off.

We pull up to my mansion.

"Grama! Grampa!" Lizzy and Jake yell hugging their grandparents. Lizzy reminded me of Lily. Same blue eyes and red hair. Jake looked like me.

"Let's go inside and get something to eat", my mother said.

My phone rang.

"Come on daddy!" Lizzy yelled.

"I'll come in a little baby girl", I told my daughter. I answered my phone.

"Reid?" her voice said.

"Lily", I said softly.

"Reid, I wanna talk", she said.

"Okay", I agreed.

"Alone", she said.

"Okay, when?" I asked her.

"Tonight, the colony house", she said.

"I'll be there", I told her.

"What did you want to talk about?" I asked her that night.

"Us", she said.

"Me too", I said softly.

"Reid", she said helplessly.

"Yes Lily?" I asked.

She broke down in tears and I held her. "I don't want it to be every other weekend anymore", she said, "I can't bear to…"

"What?" I asked her, "Are you taking Lizzy and Jake away from me?"

"Reid, it kills me to see you", she said turning away.

"Lily, I need you", I whispered.

"I need you too, but it kills me", she said.

"Lily, I'll be better this time around. I promise. I'll come home on time. I'll go to church with you and the kids. I'll take you out to dinner more often. I'll buy you a boat, car, another house. Anything! You want it! You got it!" I said.

"I want your love Reid", she said.

"Lily, you already have it. You've always had it. Ever since we were children. I wanna marry you again Lily. Please", I whispered.

"Reid", she said.

"Lily, please", I begged her, "I can't live without waking up to your beautiful face in the morning".

"Yes Reid", she whispered, "I'll marry you again".

I leaned down and kissed her passionately. "I love you", I whispered.

"I love you too Reid", she said.
