-story start-
(Kari's POV) As I did my chores, Sakura came in and told me that the Hokage wishes to see me. I quickly got ready and followed her to Tsunade's. Sakura knocked and Shizune let us in. "Lady Hokage, miss Kari is here." Shizune said, and Sakura left. "Kari, I'm afraid you will be sent to the sand village as a peace offering. You will marry lord Gaara, the Kazekage of Suna. He's 17yrs old, and really strong. Do not provoke his anger." Tsunade said. I nodded shyly. "Yes ma'am." I replied.
A few weeks later, I arrived in Sunagakure and was escorted to Gaara's office. "Are you Kari Haruno?" he asked coldly. I nodded shyly, and he smirked. "Good, lets get this marriage over with, alright?" he said. "yes sir." I replied softly.
Three days later, we were married and I was cleaning the house when sand surrounded me again. I froze, closing my eyes, hoping it would stop. It did, but I was crying when it did, and someone was holding me in there arms. I looked up to see Gaara, and looked down ashamed. I could feel him shaking in shock, and quickly pulled away, stumbling into a dark corner, in fear of myself. "How do you know how to control sand?" he asked. I looked up sadly. "I was born with it, that's why I'm like a ghost now." I said quietly. He pulled me back into his arms, and I fell asleep in his arms.
(Kari's POV, info for the readers) Over the last few weeks, Gaara has protected me from many Akatsuki members, even though I told him not to worry, he still did. Gaara doesn't know I have another power. Flight. He's been training me in controlling my sand powers, his sister Tamari is teaching me to control wind, and his brother Kankuro is teaching me about puppetry. Thanks to my sister Sakura, I know how to heal deadly wounds, make antidotes, poisons, and even heal the vital points that have been wounded.
(Gaara's POV, at home with Kari) As I laid down next to Kari's sleeping form, I noticed her sand was forming the words 'love is painful when its not returned'. I was surprised, but did not try to awaken her and ask her what that meant. I laid there all night, until morning, when she awoke an dressed into a long dark purple dress, and I saw she had a pair of Silver Angel wings tattooed on her back. "when did you get that tattoo?" I asked her calmly. She jumped in surprise, and spun around to face me. "what?…oh the angel wings. It's not a tattoo, it's a birthmark." she told me and started to do her daily chores. I went to work and started to do paperwork, when Baki my old Jonin teacher came in and asked for a mission. I nodded and pulled a B-Rank mission out. "You are to go to the hidden sound village, and see if Orochimaru will allow the Uchiha to come and 'train' with me, tamari, Kankuro, yourself, and Kari. Do not tell them of Kari's last name and/or her being married to me. Got it?" I ordered him harshly. He quickly agreed and soon left. A few hours later, I went home to find Kari sitting on the couch with blank lifeless eyes. I ran to her side.
