My very first story.
When i was playing, something like that happened and with a bit of imagination, i created this short story.
Enjoy!
Deep fall and soft landing.
At their journey to defeat Grunthilda and her sisters, Banjoo and Kazooie made it to Witchyworld.
"Wow, it's hot in here." said Kazooie as they entered The Inferno.
Banjo nodded "Sure is..." and started started to look around. It was a huge round room, more than half of the ground covered in lava, with a big tower in the middle.
From the top of the tower, burning Hotheads slided down a spiraling path down into a pool of lava.
"Look, up there!" yelled Banjo as he noticed the glow of a jiggly at the very top of the monument centering the area. "Let's get up there."
Banjo started running towards the tour and soon found a ramp, but he slipped off.
He sighed "It's no use, seems like you will have to carry me, Kazooie."
The breegull stuck its head out of the blue blackpack. "No way! I will not carry your heavy butt all the way up there. Find another way!"
"Alright, alright." The bear looked and found a Split-up-pad nearby. He walked towards it and soon, Kazooie was on her own feet and started running up the spiral path
around the tower, dodging the burning creatures coming her way. But as she almost reached the top, she couldn't go any further. She yelled down at Banjo "I can't go any furter. Is there a way you can help me?".
Banjo replied "I will try" and began running and jumping around the area.
Kazooie sat down at the top, watching him and thought to herself "He is so nice to me and we have been friends for so long... Maybe i should show him some more that i like him..."
As soon as she finished that thought, she head some crackling to her left and as she turned her head, she got hit hard by a burning enemy, kicking her off the tower and knocking her out.
Banjo looked up the tower as he heard her squeek and saw her falling in horror. Instintively, he dashed towards her falling location to save her.
As he came closer, he noticed she would fall into the lava and with all his energy, he leaped forward to catch her.
To him, this moment felt like slowmotion.
As he landed roughly on the other side of the pit, he held her in his arms. Banjo looked at Kazooie and noticed that she was unconcious. He started shaking her, saying her name. "Kazooie! Wake up, Kazooie!".
After a moment, that felt like an eternity to him, the breegull groaned and opened her eyes "Wha... what happened?"
He smiled at her in relief "You got hit and fell from the tower, almost into a lava pit."
"...help me in your backpack." she said weakly and Banjo did so with a sighn.
Shortly after she rested on his back, she felt him shaking a little, standing in place.
"Now is the time..." Kazooie thought and stuck her upper body out of the backpack, wrapped her wings around Banjos neck and rubbed her beak on his cheek.
"I'm sorry Banjo. Thank you for saving my life. I really like you and you are the best friend i ever had."
Banjo raised his paw and rubbed her head a little as he said with a smile "I know, Kazooie... Even though you never tell me, i know."
Both blushed a little. "We should leave this place and rest somewhere." Said Banjo and the breegull nodded, retreating back into the bag on his back.
As the bear started walking, Kazooie closed her eyes and thought "He truly is the best friend i ever had... Maybe even some more."
