She was frustrated. Jake had been hounding her all day. If it wasn't one thing, it was the other. Pestering her to talk to him. She had broken it off with him after the bar incident and her creditability almost being completely destroyed. She hadn't seen him for almost a month and now he was back. Despite telling him several times it was over he kept pushing, telling her she didn't know what she really wanted and that she was being stupid. On and on about how she had left him once and it wasn't gonna happen again. But what Jake didn't know is that she had already moved on. Course it was none of his damn business and she wasn't gonna tell him.

Setting up for a bullet analysis she turned her radio on. She liked having back round when she worked, helped her focus. The dj voice came on to announce the next song as Calleigh started to work.

"Haven't heard from this little lady in awhile but the song is a favorite of mine. Here's Mindy McCready with All that I am."

Calleigh turned and raised the volume on the radio, she loved this song and hadn't heard it in ages. Getting back to her bullet the song started.

Horatio was on his way down to ballistics. He needed to know what Calleigh's opinon was on somthing but mainly he just wanted to see her smiling face. He stopped right outside the door and was susprised to her Cal singing. SHe never sang. Her head was buried in her work and she didn't notice him at her door. Listening he was drown in not only by her voice but the lyrics themselves.

" I can be tough I can be tender. As strong as a saint, weak as a sinner. But when I'm in your arms I'm so complete. You bring out what's inside of me." Horatio smiled, damn if that wasn't true.

"A woman with a mind, body and a soul. A heart full of love won't let go. I love the way you understand all that I am. I'm a member of the modern world. But sometimes I'm still an old fashioned girl."

He always opened her doors, pulled out her chairs but so much she just had to do on her own, would always do on her own.

"You make me laugh and you let me cry. I finally found a man who's not afraid to try."

He watched and listened as she sang along to the chorus, swaying her hips along with the music. The chorus repeated twice more and she never missed a beat. Once it ended, she turned to the radio, turning the volume down as the next song came on. Turning back to her task she looked up to see Horatio standing at her door. She couldn't help the blush that crept over her face. He came in and smiled.

"Just how long have you been standing there handsome?" she asked.

"You sing very well Ms. Duquesne." he spoke in that whiskey heavy voice that make her shiver in anticipation. As he came closer to her she couldn't help but wrap her arms around his neck. Smiling she said "Well I have."

"Have what?"

"Found a man who's not afraid. A man that respects me, understands me and doesn't try to change me."

He had no words, instead he pulled her in closer for a heart stopping hiss that told her just how grateful he was to be that man.

Jake needed to talk to Cal again. This was making him insane. He wasn't ready to give her up. He could understand that she was made about the drinks and knew that the repercussions for them both would of been much worse if she had revealed that he was her lunch date that day. He just knew if he could talk to her, really talk to her, she's take him back. He stopped at her door in ballistics and froze. He watched her wrap her arms around Horatio's neck, then the kiss that followed.

Jake Berkly then did the smartest thing he had ever done in his whole life. He walked away. He knew that there was no beating Horatio Caine
