22. Contrast – Danny Messer/Don Flack
Danny loved Don's contrasts, the dark of his suits against the paleness of his skin, the dark brown of his body hair scattered against pale skin, but most of all was the contrast between Don the Detective and Don the Lover.
Don the detective was focused and determined and just a little hard. Don the lover was warm and supportive and open. While there were parts of Don evident in both forms, there were still definite differences, differences Danny supposes were there for Don's sanity, to allow him to disassociate the man who had to see horrible things, who had to kill, from the lover and partner.
Danny loved Don's contrasts, they were what made him the man Danny loved.
