100 Theme Challenge
#48 - Words
Pairing: None
Words can start a friendship.
Words have the power to bring two people together in the bonds of love.
Words can make people smile and bring happiness.
But words can also destroy.
They can cause pain.
And destroy relationships.
Words can end a friendship.
If you are sincere though, words may be able to help start reforming the bonds that they broke.
If the person speaking the words is honest, they may get forgiveness from the person who the words originally hurt.
When Sakura and I were little, we used to be the best of friends. Always by each others side and spending time together.
But one day there was a boy in our class who brought about the beginnings of the end of our friendship.
That boy was Sasuke Uchiha. He was so cute and mysterious. And even though he showed no signs of liking Sakura or I, we still had the biggest crushes on him. I became so jealous of her when she got put on the same team as Sasuke while I was stuck on a team with the lazy Shikamaru and Chouji.
As time went on, Sakura and I began an unspoken competition to see who Sasuke would chose to date. Neither of us even thought about the fact that Sasuke might not be interested in either of us.
But as all things, they have to come to an end at some point. Our friendship had deteriorated to the point that we wouldn't even be civil to each other anymore. It was all about who would get Sasuke in the end. That's when words broke our bonds.
It was always Billboard-Brow this or Ino-Pig that, we hurt each other so much in our rivalry over Sasuke. But Sasuke didn't care, he never paid us any mind though we both tried to win his heart so much.
We weren't what he was looking for, yet we hurt each other trying to win his affections.
Sasuke is gone now, he left for Orochimaru a long time ago. He would rather follow that snake and his cursed seal, than stay with either Sakura or I.
And I'm glad , because maybe now I can take the first steps and try to repair my friendship with her. I miss having her attention and her friendship.
Maybe now I can say the words I've been wanting to say for a long time.
Now I can say...
"I'm sorry."
