The war was raging on all around Hermione. There were people screaming and fighting all over Hogwarts, both in the castle and outside on the castle grounds. There was the smell of fire and dust and blood. It was awful.

Hermione was in an empty corridor with a death eater, trying to hold her own against him. She wasn't sure who he was, but he was strong and Hermione was struggling to ward him off. She had no idea where Ron or Harry was and she was starting to fear that she wouldn't see them again.

"Granger, duck!" a familiar voice yelled at her. She did and a curse came flying above her head, knocking out the death eater and suddenly Draco Malfoy stood in front of her.

"Are you okay?" He asked her with a voice full of concern and a serious expression on his face.

"I'm fine," Hermione mumbled a bit confused as to why Malfoy even cared.

"Good, now I would appreciate if you stay that way," Malfoy told her.

Hermione didn't quite know what to say to that so she just nodded and okay. Malfoy locked eyes with her for a moment, it looked like he was about to say something more, but apparently he thought better of it, because a few seconds later he started to walk away.

"Be safe Granger," he called back over his shoulder just as he rounded a corner, and then he was gone and Hermione was left utterly confused about what had just happened. She shook her head and went off to find friends.
