We once had Light

We once had light, so long ago,
Before they forged the rings we wear,
And there was life within our eyes...
That look now on in hate we share.

For we were once all kings of men,
And ruled in countries, green and fair,
We lived, we loved, our hearts strong then.
We looked on life, without despair,
I wish it so again...
