Summary: In 'Heart of Tarkon', Doc wrote a letter to Miss Etiquette while waiting for his execution. Now what answer did he get?
Dear Miss Etiquette,
I am a Galaxy Ranger with a serious problem: I am about to be executed on a distant planet, and I am not sure about the proper attire. Can you advise me?

Dear Embarrassed,
It is hard to answer this without knowing exactly what planet you are on. In general, executions are semi-formal events. People want to see the law being upheld, but they also want to have some fun. I would advise you to wear something that makes you look serious and shows you dressed for the occasion, without being too festive. Also, since you might have to wear your clothing for a long time, make sure it is reasonably comfortable.
You mentioned being a Galaxy Ranger; if your employer consents, you might want to wear your dress uniform. If not, I would suggest you wear a dark suit or – depending on the planet – robe. Avoid black and white since the former projects a pessimistic mood and the latter might look garish with the events that are about to transpire.
I hope that helps.
Yours sincerely
Suzanne Etiquette
PS: Have you considered escaping?
