Lana awoke with a start. She had a bad nights sleep. Hunting had been rough over the past few days. At least cravings had been on and off. Drinking some blood out of her flask, she had a quick shower and put on a pair of jeans, a checked lumberjack style shirt and black chuck taylors. She checked out of the motel she was staying in and drove off to a relatively small town in the heart of the Washington woods. She was investigating a possible possession. Four people had been killed, all with a knife to the back. From various sources and research, she had found out where the family and friends of the victims lived. Today, she was paying the role of keen reporter.

When she arrived, she parked right in front of a 1967 Chevrolet Impala.

"Shit," she muttered under her breath. Sam and Dean Winchester were here.

Keeping calm and getting out her car, she walked towards the first house on her list. She rung the doorbell of the first house, who she believed were the parents of a fourteen year old boy. Great, this is going to be fun. She thought as she waited at the doorstep. A woman, presumably the boy's mom appeared at the door, tissue in hand, wiping her eyes.

"Hi, I'm Lucy Atkinson. Head reporter of the Washington State times. I heard about your son. I'm very sorry of course, but would it be ok if I interviewed you for an article I'm writing?"

"Sure, ok. I, I, fine. My husband can do most of the talking," she sobbed.

Lana was invited in. She got out her notebook and conducted her meticulously thought out interview.

Just a half hour later, she was done. She had found out their son's burial site, how he had been found and a description of the killer from the police; along with lots of other important facts. She had the key ones down for now, at least. She exited the house and walked a little way down the street. Sam and Dean were walking towards her. One was tall and had brown boyish hair and the other was a few inches shorter with dirty blonde, shortish hair and lots of stubble. They were both muscular. Made sense. Hunters mostly were.

"Sammy, it's a vampire," Dean said to Sam, who was looking across the street to the next house they needed to visit. Sam looked over at Dean, and then to the blonde girl walking towards them. She was pale skinned, rosy cheeked, slender and had high face bones.

"You can't be sure of that Dean. What if she isn't?"

Without heeding the words of his brother, Dean got out his gun loaded with silver and shot at Lana.

Lana looked at the silver bullet that was rocketing her way. With just enough reaction time to duck, she avoided the worst damage and the bullet only scraped her shoulder through about a centimetre of skin. She hissed.

"You bloody bastard," she whispered under her breath.
