Expect The Unexpected
A/N: A birthday fic for a great friend of mine, Bleeding Darkness Dragon. I hope you have fun! I'd give you Hiei, but… you already have him.
Disclaimer: I do not own YYH or the characters.
"I have never seen your eyes filled with such anger, Hiei. What's wrong?" asked Kurama. He had arrived home from school, only to find his short, impatient friend sitting in the far left corner of his room.
The little fire demon stood up and walked up to Kurama. "Give me ningen money!" he demanded.
Kurama nearly fell on his back. "You want what?" he asked, uncertain if his ears had picked up what Hiei said correctly.
"Ningen money!" Hiei repeated himself. He held his hand out and looked deep into Kurama's eyes.
"Nice try, Hiei," Kurama said as he composed himself, "but trying to seduce me won't help you." A fist would have connected with the redhead's stomach, had he not evaded in time. Kurama landed on one knee across from Hiei. With his eyes wide, he realized that the fire demon meant what he said. "You were serious. Why do you need it?"
Scarlet eyes blinked. "None of your business," Hiei answered, turning to the side.
"My money, my business."
"Fine," he agreed, "I need it so I can buy something."
A grin grew on Kurama's face. "That's really considerate of you, Hiei." The fox demon pulled Hiei into a hug, surprising both of them. In mere seconds Kurama released the little demon and looked away. "Sadly, I don't have any money."
"WHY THE HELL NOT?! YOU'RE THE RESPONSIBLE ONE, KURAMA!"
Shrugging, Kurama answered, "I had to pay the bail to get Yusuke and Kuwabara out of jail."
"Those idiots…" muttered Hiei. "Fine! I'll go look for something that doesn't require money!" And with those words, Kurama saw a blur jump out of the window and into the outside.
Hours went by, but Hiei wasn't content with anything he found. "Humans throw everything away, but I can't find any money!" Fatigued from his long search, he dropped to the ground and looked up at the sky. The sun was setting, the clouds receding, and the moon coming up to take its place. "Well, that's something I can do," he whispered.
Making sure that no one was awake, the half-koorime approached the house. He flitted to the desired window and managed to get it open easily. Being careful, he slipped in and left a note and something else next to the sleeping person before leaving. And there on the note the following was written:
The rose next to this note is from Kurama's garden… I had no money to give you what you would've liked. However, I promise to give you a kiss when you wake up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BDD!
Hiei
A/N: BDD, have a great birthday! (Sorry for the shortness of this story. My brain was broken at the moment.)
