Pointless and fluffy. It just sort of popped into my head one night as I was trying to procrastinate.
"I hate you," Rain bit out shortly, her voice cold.
"No you don't," Chris told her sweetly, then continued in a sing song voice, "you loooove meee!!"
"No," shortly again. "I extremely despise you right now." She walked over and sat at the edge of the seawall, feet dangling into the water below. Chris sat down beside her, sighing heavily.
"How many times do I have to tell you that I'm sorry?"
"I'll let you know when you get there."
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Chris exclaimed, begging.
"You killed me! It wasn't even an 'almost' or a 'close call'. You tied me down and slit my throat. Slowly," she whirled on him, anger dripping out.
"I was under a spell! I was evil for Gaia's sake!" he defended himself hotly.
"Yea, but the spell only made you attack people you were already angry with," she replied matter-of-factly, daring him to argue.
"Well we were fighting when the spell started," he replied evenly, trying to maintain control.
"Yea, don't think I forgot about that either, mister."
"I'm sorry." He said again, unable to stop the bitter undertone as he glared out at the water.
"Let me slit your throat and see how you feel about life."
"I brought you back."
"Wyatt brought me back."
"Because I stopped myself from killing him."
"Again maybe not the best defense," she bit out. "You stopped yourself from killing Wyatt instantly, but didn't even hesitate to kill me. You didn't even show the teeniest bit of restraint when you killed me. You even laughed."
"I WAS EVIL!!"
"You had better stop yelling or I'm gonna show you evil and no force from heaven or hell will bring you back from where I send you."
"You sit here and tell me how pissed you are at me and then tell me I'm not allowed to get angry?" Chris asked incredulously.
"I never said you couldn't get mad. I asked you not to yell. I'm not yelling at you."
"Fine, I'm sorry for yelling at you and I'm sorry for forgetting we had a date and for going out with my friend Corrie instead. And I'm sorry I told you I'd pick you up from the movie you went to with friends while I was at work so you had to have someone come back and get you," Chris leaned forward, elbows on knees, hands covering his face.
Rain leaned over against his side, wrapping her arms around his waist and wriggling herself under his arm so that it went around her shoulder. She looked up so that her lips were just barely brushing under his chin.
"You're forgiven this time. But if you ever try and kill me again we may have some problems. There might have to be some jewelry involved if you try and kill me again," she smirked, lowering her face into his chest. Chris wrapped his arms around her a little tighter, resting his head on hers.
"I'll make it up to you someday," he murmured quietly.
"Really? You'll kill Wyatt?!"
