So, this is just a mini-project that I had to do last year when I did "The Outsiders" as a novel study. I was searching through all my last-year work, and found this, and thought I should post it. Hope y'all like it :) If I get good reviews, I'll write some for the other Greasers as well.
Johnny Cade
All my life, I've been neglected
With no one there for me.
But with the gang I'm accepted
They hear my silent pleas.
I have a friend named Ponyboy
We get along quite well.
Dally is easy to annoy,
but he's gallant, as well.
As I lie in this hospital,
memories rushing back,
I recalled that it took little
To break my fragile back.
They say the innocent don't last
How in time we're the same.
But Pony, as I learned quite fast,
Will not fall for those games.
I need to get this through to him
Before my time gets old
So slowly my head turns to him
"Stay gold, Pony. Stay Gold".
