Glass shattered and sprayed about in the air like magnificent diamond snow. A burly bulk of shadow leapt through the cathedral's thin defenses. The golden mosaic walls were adorned with the glassen tales of haven's story. At the head of the temple stood a marble depiction of the lord upon the cross, wine red drapes framing the work. Only a few feet from it sat a marble alter with velvet pooling across it's surface. As the clouds unveiled the laughing moon's light our bulk mass is revealed. Cowering behind the alter in hope to postpone the judgment of she who hunts it, is a creature even the Devil would not claim. Ruby eyes narrowed to slits shone through the darkness like a demon's pet cat's. oily, raggedy black hair bushed about at random on it's head. In it's mouth could be found a never ending spiral of shark like teeth and a slippery tongue left hanging out like a rabid dog's. Drool dripped from it's maw like week old milk as it turned it's head this way and that in search it's hunter.

If only the poor thing knew.

Not 12ft away from the demon in an alcove hides it's hunter. Or rather, huntress. In this alcove, hidden by shadow, was a young girl. If you could see her then you would see she was only 13 years of age. Yet she was already in the ranks of those who haunt and protect the world from the evil of demons. From her mouth came nearly invisible steady puffs of air. Indigo eyes trained on their target. As she shifted shy blue pigtails brushed and flowed with her. As she moved the shadows did to, wrapping her in a veil of darkness, hiding her from the world. A twisted almost gleeful smirk played at her lips. This would be her first mission without twin brother, needless to say she was exhilarated. Carefully treading across the tile as if it could eat her alive, she snuck up right behind the demon without alerting it's sensitive pointed ears. The shadows evaporated like mist as she approaches her target. She takes up her fighting stance placing more weight on her back leg in case she needed to flip away. Suddenly the creature freezes, sensing she is near. Indigo clashes with blood red, the beast begins to move towards her, it's voice sounding like a snake speaking through a barrel of water.

"More…..Power…must devour…. ..Souls!"

Quickly our young heroine pulls her short katanna from it's sheath strapped to her leg, her voice cold as ice.

"I don't think so ugly, for today I, Assassin Sakura, will take your soul in the name of my leader, The Grim Reaper!"

The demon bellowed in outrage at the mentioning of it's kinds most dangerous enemy, The Reaper. But in it's rage it made mistake and fell into Sakura's trap. With a mere flick of the wrist Sakura sliced the rope tied to a weight and the demon sailed into the air. Sakura bounced off the ground, flipping through the air like a silent dove until she stood on one of the high arches a few feet away from the soul sucking cretin. Taking out her second katanna she appeared as a ravenous angel of death as she flipped once more and drove her blade through the creatures back before muttering a silent mantra. The beast turned into black ribbons and dissipated into the night. Without a second glance Sakura walked away, her final words reverberating through the air.

"May the Reaper have mercy on your soul."
