Sora: I am writing another fic well re-vamping but came across a mental road block…anyway I decided to do a Death Note fanfic because of the LXLight AMV on YouTube I seen so enjoy.
Disclaimer: I own nothing of Death Note if I did I would've had it end differently but at last I don't.
Summary: This is a post and pre series thing it will start in a post and end in a pre that will progress through the Death Note storyline only with various differences but still follow along the same storyline.
Warning: This is Yaoi don't like don't read. There might also be some gore and what not so I am titling this M just encase. Enjoy the fic and review please and thank you!
Chapter 1 Reset
In a pitch black room there are many television screens around the room with many different images playing on it so many and so vast it would make your head spin just trying to watch them all.
In the middle of a room is a person shrouded by shadows ignoring all the screens saves for one that one screen has their full absolute and attention as they watched the events unfold to its conclusion.
The figure tsk at how it ended not please with it they decided to pick up a remote to aim it at the one screen that held the person's attention knowing full well they may get in trouble for this later down the road they press the reset button on the remote resetting the screen in front of them.

Before Reset.
Shinigami realm
Light wanders about the cold desolate wasteland that seem to be the Shinigami's place of residence since he used the Death Note to attempt to rule the world he was taken here this is his limbo and he was absolutely bored out of his mind.
Light being the ever prodigy genius he is ponder over and over again what he did wrong? What could he do differently? If he could change things would he even pick up the Death Note after all the pain and suffering he caused?
He shakes his head as he determined yes he would not pick up the Death Note if he had another chance why? The only reason he could think of was his L his weird, annoying, wonderful, beautiful L yes his! He loved L and it killed him to have had him killed but of course he wasn't in his right mind you see?
Kira as the masses called him was a persona that over shadowed him possessed him he really wanted to bring Kira down when he gave up the Death Note really wanted to be with L forever if he could but no…Kira that bastard was in his way always in his way and it cost him cost him too much.
Lamenting all is past deeds and wishing he can start anew he prayed, prayed for another chance to make things right to right all the wrongs he did to be with the one he loved his one and only L.

Reset
Light age 5 was sitting in his kidengarden classroom bored out of his mind being as smart as he is he reads a lot so all the things the teacher was teaching them was boring and redundant he couldn't wait to be let out to go home for the day.
Finally the hell that was school was let out for the day he heads to the shoe cubby area to put his indoor shoes in his cubby and pull out his outside shoes he taken from the cubby.
Putting on his shoes on his tiny feet and grabbing his backpack and umbrella since it was going to rain today he heads to the gate to wait for his mom to pick him up from school to take him home so he can read some more till dinner time.
Hours later
Light was still standing there with his umbrella open as the sky was pelting thick water all around him as he waited for his mother still worried since no one picked him up yet wonder if they forgotten him?
Finally after a few more minutes a car pulled up but it wasn't his parent's car it was a man his papa worked with on the police force Kanzo Mogi was it?
Mogi opens the car and steps out without an umbrella looking grimly down at Light he kneels down on one knee and looks at him wondering how to tell him the bad news.
Light frowns at Mogi an in his child voice asked "where's mama and papa?" looking at Mogi the man in front of him sighs "I'm sorry Light-kun your parents…they won't be coming for you…not anymore…" he finished his voice wavering sadden at the lost of his old friend Yagami Soichiro.
Light's reddish eyes widen at that bit of news licking his lips "why won't mama and papa be coming back anymore Mogi-san?" he asked wondering why he phrased it like he did.
Mogi looking at Light with a sadden look pulls him into a hug which forced Light's umbrella to fall on the ground from the force of the hug "Your parents…and sister…were killed…Light-kun…a criminal your father put away broke free and wanted…revenge…and he did he went to your home and…he killed everyone inside…It oh Light I am so sorry!" he exclaimed trying to hold back his tears for Light shake.
Light eyes widen at this and he speechless his mind a blank not quite grasping the situation he is not quite believing his parents are dead his sister…is dead he just can't wrap his mind around it he won't!
His mind going into over drive he lets out a blood curdling scream before he passes out in Mogi-san's arms and hoping the next time he wakes it had all been a dream and his parents, his sister were all alive and well as they should be.

Nurse's office
After a few hours Light opens up his eyes slowly and sees an unfamiliar ceiling as he feels he's lying on a not so soft mattress with itchy sheets covering him.
Blinking to get him to be more conscious he sees its night outside threw the window after that he turned his head to see Mogi-san hunched over sleeping on his folded arms on the edge of his bed.
Seeing that he them moves his eyes elsewhere and sees a privacy screen cover and realize he is in his school's infirmary.
Shifting threw his memory he goes over the events that happened leading up to him waking up in the infirmary as his eyes unknowingly well up as silent tears run down his cheeks.
Feeling something wet he brings his right hand to his cheek to feel what that wetness is after pulling his hand then in front of him he sees it's tears as the reality finally sets in and he sobs openly for the parents he lost the sister he would never see again and how he had taken them for granted.
Mogi awoke to the sound of crying to find the now orphaned Light crying his little heart out; Torn up over that he pulls him into a tight hug as Light cries harder into Mogi's shirt.
After what seems like hours Light has cried himself to sleep in his arms and Mogi seeing that he's sound asleep, finally let silent tears fall to his now departed friend.

A week later at a cemetery
A group of people mostly from the police force and their families showed up to pay their respect to his father and family as there are all cluster around the grave site as the holy man says the rites and finishing with rest in peace after words from friends been said and done.
All the while he gets pitying looks and sympathetic smiles as his eyes are dull and lifeless as his face is blank as his family is lowered into the ground and buried his tiny hand being held by Mogi as the dark grey sky finally decided to crack pouring ice cold water over the people there Light included.
People open up their black umbrellas as Mogi opens up his to hold it over him and Light as the bodies finally get done being covered the people start to disperse bowing respectfully to Light before going ,all of them now gone Mogi and Light are the only ones left.
After awhile Mogi gives his hand a little shake "let's go Light-kun…"he murmured quietly as he walked away with a little tug Light in toe as Light looks back to the grave site as Mogi then opens the door as he has him get in and buckle him up as he gets into the diver seat buckle up and takes off.

In a courtroom a day later
The female judge looks at Light indifferently as she announces to the courtroom "With Yagami Light's intellect as high as it is…and no relatives to claim him, I hear by sentence him to be sent to Winchester England to Wammy's house for extraordinary children that is all" she finished as she banged her gavel the sound echoing throughout the entire courtroom.
Outside the courtroom
Mogi sigh after the sentencing as he leads Light out of the courtroom to a cab waiting for him as Mogi stops Light he kneels down in front of him "as your temporary guardian I was told you will be taken to the airport where an elder gentleman will be waiting for you he will look like a butler you go with him and he'll bring you to England safely" he explained hugging him one last time.
Light nods some life coming to his eyes in a weak voice "will I be able to get my things?" he asked hoping he could bring something to remember his family by.
At Mogi's sadden look he already knew the answer "I'm sorry kiddo their rules you leave everything behind…you're suppose to start a new life with no attachments to your old life…even…even your name…" he murmured sadly to him as he stands up and walks him to the cab helping him in, buckling his seat belt, and closing the door as the taxi takes off to the airport.

Airport
Light hops out of the cab as the cab driver opens the door for him then closed it behind him as the diver goes to the driver side of the cab , closes the door then buckles up as he drives off leaving Light alone in front of the airport entrance.
Light didn't have to go far to find the old man that looked like a butler because the man was walking over to him.
When the old man made it to him the man smiled down at him with a warm smile "I am Quillsh Wammy, a pleasure to meet you young man" he said as he held out a hand to Light to take
Light looks at him then his hand then him again "show me proof you are who you say you are" he demanded because his papa always told him to be weary of strangers.
To that Watari smiled at the little boy "I assure you I am and to prove it" he answered as he moved his hand to take his wallet from his pocket to then take out his ID from the wallet handing it to the small boy.
Luckily for Light he is proficient in English, French, Spanish, and Latin for the ID was in English after confirming it was indeed the man and making sure the ID is real he handed it back to the old man who put it into his wallet to then put his wallet back into his pocket.
Light like to read a lot so learned those were some of the popular language so decided to pick them up but back to the matter at hand Light still eyed the man wearily "so…what is this Wammy's house for extraordinary children like?" he ask wanting to know exactly what he is being forced into.
Watari smiled at the child again "it is a school for smart kids as well as an orphanage to house them, it is a very demanding environment that requires nothing but your best effort and you will be with other children who are genius" he told him pausing for Light to ask him anything else after.
Light nods at that then remembers what Mogi-san told him "so why do we got to give up our old lives and names?" he asked as he saw the man give him a knowing look as if he has been asked that question more than once.
"That's because it's for security purpose as to why that is you will be informed later as to why we do this but onto the same subject as well what name would you like?" he asked the boy not one to waste time.
Light thinks about that since his family was killed and he wants to avenge his family he thought of the perfect name "Kira" he simply stated to the man who nods "in English that means killer what a unique name to call oneself…"he trailed off in thought for a few seconds before focusing back on the boy.
Watari holds out his hand to the boy "come along K we don't want to be late for our flight" he informed him as Light this time takes his hand and they leave to board the plane heading to Winchester, England.

England airport terminal
After a taxing time through customs as Light is still baffled how Mr. Wammy had a passport for him as well were let into the country call England.
Once they got through the crowded and busy terminal of the airport they made it outside where Watari flagged down a cab and they got in Watari opening the door for him to enter first then himself closing the door after him he buckles both of them in then tells the driver the address they are to take them too.
It was quiet in the cab ride to the house as Light is busy seeing the new and beautiful sights England has to offer as the cab eventually come to a stop in front of a huge mansion as Watari hands him some euro as he exit the cab and Light following soon after as Watari closes the door thanking the driver before he takes off down the road to a new destination.
Light was too busy seeing the house and grounds from where he stood to notice the cab driver had left as he observed the whit mansion, lush green grass with perfectly trimmed hedges and trees around the property.
He wanted to explore more before he realized he was still with Watari and so had to follow him and be shown around the huge house as well as being informed of the rules, what room he is in, what roommate he would have if any, and his class schedule for all the courses he will be required to take while living here.
He also made a silent promise to himself to explore the grounds thoroughly in his free time as Watari places a hand on his shoulder and announces "welcome to the Wammy house" he patted him on the shoulder as he heads down the walkway to the door as Light follows behind him wondering how interesting will his life get from here on out?
