Invisible
She stands outside
clutching the rail.
Her voice isn't heard
in this open jail.
She's lost among us,
right in plain sight.
But we can't find her
or know she's alright.
She's screaming for help.
Her eyes wild with fear.
Though we're all around,
none of us can hear.
We can't hear the voice
of she who's not there.
We never really knew her,
sometime's life's unfair.
If we'd only taken time
to really, truly know her,
then we could find her
and things would get better.
She stands among us,
invisible to our eyes.
No one really knows her.
No one hears her cries.
