Ok, so I was really bored and I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas came on on my MP3 so I got this idea and just wrote it really fast. Please Read!

The boy stood at the edge of the swaying crowd. He looked extremely uncomfortable in his dress shirt and long black pants. He glanced at the crowd every once in a while then would look back to the doors, hoping to escape. It was regulation for every student at Goode to attend the dance, so the boy, Percy Jackson, just stood and tried to blend in with the background trying not to be asked to dance.

He was the main gossip of the girls. Handsome, yet silent and withdrawn, as if he didn't belong, which he didn't, but the girls didn't know that. They were seriously hoping for him to ask them to dance, but were soon disappointed. Percy glanced at his leather watch then looked up as the doors opened and the one he had been waiting for walked in. She was beautiful, in a long electric blue dress and her long golden blond hair draped over her shoulder. Her eyes were stormy gray and the only piece of jewelry she was wearing was a pair of owl earrings. She looked almost as uncomfortable as Percy, though. She made a direct beeline to him. As she reached him she gave a nervous smile and Percy extended his hand towards her and she gratefully took it. He leaned over and pecked her on the cheek.

"Your late, Annabeth" He whispered in her ear. She looked up, he had grown a lot taller than her and they were still only sixteen. His hair was in its usual messy manner, no need to dress it up because it looked good that way, she noted. Then she looked into his sea green eyes and felt like she could've stood there forever, but she stood up on her tiptoes and kissed him in greeting.

"I love you too, Percy." She said and Percy led her into the crowd. She grasped his hands and they slowly started to dance. After awhile she started to smile and he returned one of his own lopsided ones. Then they looked each other in the eyes and held like that for the rest of the song. After one more song they both walked to the punch stand. Percy grabbed the pitcher and poured two cups for both of them. He leaned against the table while they sipped their drinks. Then the songs gradually changed to slower moving ones and he eventually found himself back out there with Annabeth holding on to his hands like a life raft. They took slow steps together and Annabeth laid her head on his shoulder comfortably. They swayed and turned for more than five minutes until Percy leaned over and whispered something into Annabeth's ear. And together with their arms locked they walked out of the gym and into the cold night outside. Percy pulled Annabeth closer to him, thankful for some privacy, and leaned over and kissed her on the lips. She stood higher up and held onto him from behind the neck. He entwined his hands in her long hair and they stayed like that for the rest of the dance.
