Outside
She watches them go by in pairs,
and tries to feel as they do,
but she can't.
She wants love.
She knows it's ridiculous and unpractical,
but she can't help it.
She doesn't understand either,
all she knows is that the void in her heart
refuses to be filled
and she wonders if it ever will be.
