You shivered, the cold biting at your cheeks. The winter coat you had on didn't seem to be enough. And yet, you still had to wait at the bus stop for a ride home. You were alone… Oh?

An imposingly tall man was sitting on the bench, leaning back, eyes closed, with a peaceful expression on his face. He didn't seem to be cold. His violet eyes opened slowly and he focused on you. He stared at you for a while. You were starting to get creeped out by how he was staring.

"You are cold, da?" The man asked. He had a thick Russian accent. You nodded. He smiled, "My name is Ivan. I can make you warm."

"How?" You asked in confusion.

"I'll show you," Ivan smiled, "Sit down," You sat down on the bench and shivered. God! It was freezing! "It must be terrible, trembling inside your flimsy coat as you get colder and colder, da?" You nodded, teeth chattering. "When I feel cold, I embrace it. Soon I become warm."

"What?" Did that even make sense? You wondered if the man was high or something.

"Try to focus on the snowflakes as they fall to the ground," Ivan said, his voice growing soft, "watching them as they lazily drift…" You decided to take his suggestion. You watched as a snowflake slowly flew from the gray sky, the intricate patterns close to your nose as it traveled down to your feet. You relaxed, watching the movement. For some reason, it felt nice to watch.

"Yeah."

"Keep watching the snow as it drifts… You're tired, aren't you?" Ivan asked. You nodded. He smiled, "Feel your eyes just get heavy as you drift… Become just so relaxed and tired as you drift away… Falling into trance like snow…" His words were heard and you relaxed, your eyelids getting heavy.

"Yes…" You muttered.

"Keep focusing on the snowflakes as they fall… You start to sink down, drifting down like the snow… Drifting just so much deeper and deeper… settling down and being completely still…" Ivan whispered, "You are the snow… settling deeper and deeper underneath layers of relaxation… The snow is melting…" He touched your arm, "My touch is like sunshine that melts snow…."

Your arm fell, completely limp and passive. He kept whispering about the warm sunshine hitting your face, melting your body into nothing but a small puddle of warmth. The heat radiates from your head to your toes. You absolutely love this warmth. The sun shines down on you, warming up your body. A small flame appears in front of your eyes. Just breathe in the warmth this flame radiates and breathe out all of your tension.

The flame is your favorite color. Such a relaxing, soft color it is. It lights the inside of your vision, bright enough to illuminate all else in white, yet dim enough to be comfortable to watch. The small flame starts up your body, warming each part it touches. Your toes become warm; then your legs. Your torso becomes just so relaxed. Your shoulders slump and your arms lay limp, except for the hand that scrolls through these words. Your neck weighs down, barely able to hold up your heavy, tired head. The warmth enters your mind; you feel it become fuzzy and warm. So nice…

"Hello?" You opened your eyes to Ivan's voice. He smiled and handed you a card. He left soon after.

You blinked. You would have to see him more often.
