She opens her eyes
Dizzy, headache, nausea
Runs for the bathroom.//
Hears door slamming shut
Rolls over, can't remember
Who he slept next to.//
Her whole body hurts
What happened to her last night?
Must have drunk too much.//
Angela's wedding?
A row of gorgeous bridesmaids.
Which one was in there?//
Groaning, she stood up
Rinsed her mouth and washed her face
Time to face the facts.//
Bathroom door opens
Is he hallucinating?
Bones stares back, mouth open.//
"You?" "You!" "No, no, no,
"this never happened," she says.
Quickly she dresses.//
He pulls on his pants.
"This is the start of something
amazing," he says.//
She picks up her bag
Needs to get out of his room
"This was a mistake."//
Clad in bridesmaid dress
Big purple bow on her butt
She leaves, he lets her.//
Next week at the lab
Things are awkward, no phone calls
Misses his friendship.//
No cases lately
No excuse to visit her
His days are lonely.//
Angela returns
Did the partners have a fight?
Brennan's fault or Booth's?//
She straightens them out
Now they are talking again
Not kissing yet, though.//
Dinner at her place
Things move quickly, like before
Food is forgotten.//
Lips meet hungrily
Hands travel over bodies
Not drunk like last time.//
Cuddling afterwards,
"Together forever," she
says contentedly.//
"Forever," he says
She sleeps soundly next to him
Remembers this time.//
