Sydney paused as she saw the door to her apartment open. Something was wrong, she always locked it. She set down her groceries and took out her gun. She walked cautiously through her apartment and sighed when she found no one. She must have left it open herself.

Suddenly a gun was forced against her head and she was pushed to her knees. Hello Sydney, did you miss me?" Sydney's eyes widened in shock. The British accent, the smooth calm voice, but it couldn't be.

"You're…you're…"

"Very much alive." The assailant's breath tickled against Sydney's ear. "No Vaughn here I see? That is a surprise. I would have expected him to be straight with you once his dear wife died…"

"Well he's getting over sharing a bed with someone who went as low as to sleep with Sark!" Sydney snapped.

"Still not over that yet Sydney?" Her former lover teased and turned Sydney around to kiss her.

Sydney sighed into the kiss and let the tears fall. "I've missed you so much." Lauren smiled.

"I've missed you too love." Lauren smiled as she held Sydney. "Vaughn and the CIA still believe I'm dead?" Sydney nodded. It had been three months since Sydney had 'gone after' Lauren and Vaughn had arrived to 'kill' his wife.

"The Kevlar vest worked a treat…falling down the mine shaft hurt like hell though." Lauren explained. "But it was worth it. Sark and the Covenant believe me to be dead too. We did it Syd."

Sydney grinned as she kissed her lover and held her for the first time in three months. "When you didn't contact me I thought you'd died…or left without me."

"Never." Lauren whispered in her ear. "I'll never leave you Sydney. I promise. Have you got everything you need?" Sydney nodded as she picked up her jacket and an old photograph or herself, Will and Francie.

"The things I need are in storage." Sydney crossed to the fridge where three pints of her blood were stored. She went about applying it to the walls to imitate arterial spray and then she handed the last two pints to Lauren and lay on the floor as her lover poured the blood around her on the floor.

Lauren dragged her to the door, leaving a trail of blood and then helped her to her feet and out of her clothes. She changed and took the bloodied clothes to her car outside where she put them in the boot along with the bomb she had placed.

Once they were a mile away Sydney used the detonator to set off the bomb and free herself from her past. Lauren smiled adoringly at the other woman and held Sydney's hand. "Where should we go?"

"Far away from the past." Sydney smiled. "Together."
