Yugi and Company
Chapter one: New Life and a New Identity
Yugi sat in his room, looking at a book that his father gave to him when he was five. The book was an old Disney book called Oliver and Company. He liked Oliver. The cat reminded Yugi of how his life used to be before he had friends. A tear fell onto his hand.
"I wish I could be there right now." A knock was what snapped Yugi out of the depths of his mind. "Hello?"
"Yugi, it's me, Atem."
"What do you want?"
"I was wondering if I could borrow your deck." He said from behind the door.
"Oh, okay." Yugi said, something in him snapped as he approached the door, his deck in his hand. He opened it and forced the cards into Atem's chest with a hard shove.
"Yugi, what's the matter with you?" He asked coughing
"It's none of your business Pharaoh." He said. "Keep the deck, and if you want, keep my life. I don't care anymore." He slammed the door in Atem's face, locked the door and jumped onto his bed crying. He did though. But, it wasn't their business. They played at the park all day. But did they even think of including him in their fun, no they didn't. He grabbed the book and read out loud to himself.
"As Oliver followed Tito through the wires, he got caught in them after Tito got zapped by the wires…" He stopped reading. Dad, where are you? Grandpa told me you died two years after you gave me the book. He said that drove Mom insane because she loved you too much that losing you, meant losing apart of herself, she tried to keep it together for my sake, but she couldn't. She was lost without you. You were her protector, her guardian angel, her husband and most importantly, her best and most closest friend. He stared at Oliver. I wish I could be a cat like you. He thought before falling asleep. And not remember anything about my current life. His wish was heard by not one, but two stars that night, they granted his wish without question. Little did Yugi know that when he was to awaken the next morning, he was in for the adventure of his life.
