It was no secret that Bonnie Sumire, otherwise known as Bonbon, loved sweets. She didn't have a preference when it came to sugary treats; anything from cupcakes, to candy canes, to apple pie, and aniseed twists, she loved every last treat in the book. Having grown up in a bakery run by her parents, Bonbon was always surrounded by treats, and at the end of the day, she had no problems with helping her parents clear out the leftovers. Sweets were everything to her; they were the taste of her father's famous pecan pie, which he made for his family as a special treat, every now and again. They were her grandmother Betty's blueberry pie, which she always bought when she visited. They were the cupcakes that her mother made for her whenever she was upset, and the first bite would almost always put a smile back on her face. Sweets were Bonbon's very being.

But naturally, Bonbon's love of sweets brought on a whole host of problems. Filling up on sugary treats made her massively overweight, and time and time again, her doctors would tell her to lose the weight, or risk getting diabetes, or heart disease, or cancer, but every time, she refused, not wanting to part with her beloved treats even for a little bit.

Eventually, Bonbon did end up with diabetes. The doctors all said the same things; limit your sugar intake, watch your glucose levels, lose the weight, or else you'll die. Unable to eat the things she loved so much, Bonbon fell into a deep depression, unwilling to leave her room, or do anything, because what was the point? Why bother with life, if she had to live it without the things she loved the most? Why not just let herself pass on now?

Sensing the girl's sadness, the devil himself approached Bonbon, and proposed a deal she couldn't refuse; in exchange for her soul, he'd give her the ability to eat as many sweets as she wanted, whenever she wanted, without having to worry about her health. Not just that, but he'd give her a kingdom made of sweets, and she would be the queen.

Bonbon was ecstatic. She had everything she ever wanted; chocolate rivers, a cake castle, roads paved with wafers and frosting and lollipops...Everything about her kingdom was perfect. She wanted to stay there, forever and ever.

But, as it was the devil who'd given it to her, it would all come tumbling down someday, crumbling like a shortbread...
