"Well sometimes people aren't who you think they are," Detective Angie Flynn sighed as she looked at her colleague across the desk. Doctor Betty Rogers simply nodded her head as she glanced down at the case files in front of her not truly seeing them without her reading glasses.

'If only Angie knew the truth behind that statement,' she thought with a bitter heart. In her silent pondering, Betty heard Angie rise from her chair and leave the autopsy room. Waiting a few minutes until she was sure she was alone, Betty rose herself and walked around her desk unlocking the top drawer. Betty moved a few loose papers out of the way to uncover the object she had been searching for. As her fingers ran over the cool medal her mind wander back to years ago and all that she left behind.

Footsteps in the hallway interrupted her thoughts and she quickly dropped the badge back into the drawer. The memories of her previous life and time as director of an armed federal vanished in the silence that remained.
